Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 May 2026
This policy explains what data Scout (the Chrome extension, "the Service") collects, how it's used, and your rights as a user. Plain language, no dark patterns.
1. Who we are
Scout is operated as a sole-proprietor product based in Saudi Arabia. Contact: support@scoutforhr.com.
2. What we collect
Public LinkedIn profile data, when you trigger an analysis
When you open the Scout sidebar on a LinkedIn profile page, the extension reads the public, on-screen content of that profile (name, headline, location, about, listed experience, education, skills, languages) and sends it to our analysis worker. We only read what your browser is already showing you.
Your criteria and settings, locally
The keywords, minimum years of experience, location filters, your role, and your company name are stored in your browser's local extension storage. They're sent with each analysis request so the AI can score the profile against your criteria. They are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the request.
Usage counter, locally
The number of free analyses you've used (up to 3) is stored locally in your browser. Reinstalling the extension resets this counter. We do not associate this counter with you remotely unless you subscribe.
Subscription and license data
If you subscribe, billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. They collect your name, email, billing address, and payment method per their own privacy policy. We receive a license key and the email associated with your subscription.
Server logs
Our worker logs request timestamps, IP address (for rate limiting), and response status. Logs are retained for up to 7 days, then deleted.
3. What we don't collect
- We don't track which profiles you visit on LinkedIn unless you trigger an analysis.
- We don't auto-message anyone or take action on LinkedIn on your behalf.
- We don't read your DMs, notifications, or feed.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't train AI models on your data.
4. Third parties we use
- Cloudflare Workers — hosts our analysis backend.
- Groq — performs the AI analysis. Profile data is sent to them per-request and is not retained by Groq beyond their inference window.
- Lemon Squeezy — handles all billing.
- Cloudflare KV — caches analysis results for up to 24 hours, keyed to a hash of profile + criteria, to make repeat views fast.
5. How long we retain data
- Cached analyses: up to 24 hours, then auto-deleted.
- Server logs: up to 7 days.
- Subscription records: as long as your subscription is active, plus 12 months for tax/legal compliance.
- Local extension storage: until you uninstall the extension or clear it manually.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Uninstall the extension at any time — this deletes all local data.
- Cancel your subscription at any time via Lemon Squeezy's customer portal.
- Email support@scoutforhr.com to request deletion of any subscription records we hold.
7. Children
Scout is not intended for users under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how data is handled, we'll update this page and notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before changes take effect.
9. Questions
Email support@scoutforhr.com. We respond within 48 hours.
